I have managed to combine all of my addictions by getting hooked onto blogging. I am following bloggers interested in stitching, vintage crafts and decorating, collecting and antiquing. I have enjoyed getting new ideas and following some really creative people.

I want to thank everyone who is sharing their ideas and creativity on their blogs.

I also want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine's Day.
These are certainly two of my favorite things to do.

I wanted to post an update on my Works in Progress. I just posted two small projects that I just finished, but I have some others that I am currently working on. I recently spent some time organizing my work room and found that I had more material than I thought I had. I was able to start some new projects using material that I already had. That is always a good thing!

This first project is for my nephew's wife, Michelle. She loves Halloween. This is a Pumpkin Farm bell pull. I wanted to have it done last October, but she should get it by next Halloween.

Here is a picture of the finished project.
The first finish is a project by Hinzeit called Charmed Shuttle: Blessings. The shuttle piece is made by Kay's Frames. I bought this project when I attended the Celebration of Needlework Show near St. Louis last fall. We took a bus tour there with stitchers from the Indianapolis area. We had a great time. Here is the link if you are interested in attending the 2012 Shows. http://celebrationofnw.com/

And here is my finish!

My next finished piece is a heart pincushion project by Country Stitches - With thy Needle & Thread. The project is called Love Bird Pincushion. Here is their website: http://www.countrystitches.com/

I really liked their projects on the website.

Also included are instructions for a Needle Keep and a Sewing Box created from a Whitman's 3 oz. box of chocolates. I plan to do both of these projects too.

This pincushion will be given to a very special friend of mine for Valentine's Day. I'll make another one for myself later.

I hope you all have a very wonderful Valentine's Day full of love and encouragement.

Keep Stitchin'.
This piece is called Spring in the Village by Stoneycreek. The pattern originally called for 28 count Jobelan over 2 threads. I decided to work on an even weave material, 28 ct over one. I like the look and of course it won't end up as large. Here is a close up of the piece.

Thanks to my daughter, Amy, for taking these pictures.

The next project is called Quaker Sampling III by With my Needle. It is worked on 28 ct. Ivory Lugana, over one. The threads are Cranberry Belle Soie - silk thread by Crescent Colours. I using only 1 ply. I also changed this so that the alphabet goes across the top and bottom instead of just the top. I wanted more of a square size instead of a larger oblong size. I am just beginning to make changes to projects. I guess I'm getting a little more creative. Follow along with my progress. Thanks for checking in.
I liked the saying in this piece. I often am asked by my husband, "What are you going to do with that?" or "Where will you put it?" Or worst of all, "Do you really need that.?" Now sometimes I will admit he is right. But there is just sometimes that I agree with this saying. A woman just wants what she wants.

This is a cross stitch project by C Street Samplerworks from LaPorte, Indiana. It is done on 32 ct. Dirty Linen Belfast from Zweigart. The threads are from Gentle Arts Sampler Threads. I purchased it from House of Stitches in Laporte, IN. This is a very nice shop. Stop in sometime.Cindy Bannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08146679943657232332noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5525765422556212631.post-49989617129240896742011-02-12T13:35:00.000-08:002011-02-16T15:19:37.746-08:00WIP UpdateI want to update you on my WIP's (Works in Progress). I have one stitching finish that needs to be framed and two others that I am still stitching on. I will soon have two others that I am starting for EGA. I will post these later.

This project is called Quaker Diamonds from Rosewood Manor by Karen Kluba.

It is worked on Picture This Plus, Cashel 28 ct., Mello. The threads are Valdani floss. I just love the Valdani floss. It is a 3 ply floss and you work with all 3 strands. I like not having to strip the threads and I love the colors.

I also really like the design. I really like the Quaker Samplers projects that I have seen lately. This is a very large project and it will be wonderful when it is finished.

And finally for this post, this is a project that I stitched for my daughter, Amy. I adapted this from another project. I designed the wording myself and changed some of the figures.
They were so cool. I had been gathering up the wooden spools when I saw them at antique malls. I knew that I could find something to do with them! At one of the craft fairs a gentleman came up and asked if we could make about 35 for him to give as teacher gifts. I said sure. Then went home and told Amy that she had a big order. I got on ebay and ordered more spools. So I have lots for next year.Cindy Bannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08146679943657232332noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5525765422556212631.post-24240211822966504662011-01-08T19:58:00.000-08:002011-01-08T19:58:13.547-08:00I'm not too oldI'm basically starting this blog to show my daughter, Amy, that I am not too old to blog.
